A coalition promoting the Eden Alternative and other sound principles of elder care transformation.

Dear Colleague:

For the past two years, a group of caregivers, providers and supporters have gathered for a mini conference to learn more about the Eden Alternative and to share the success stories which this operating philosophy has brought to so many homes. This year, we are broadening the audience to include all of those who are dedicated to changing the culture of long term care institutions and transforming elder care in Mississippi. The next conference will be March 30, from 10 am to 4 pm at the Gray Center in Canton, MS.

In order to more effectively facilitate this ongoing process of learning and sharing, we are pleased to announce the formation of a new nonprofit organization:

GROW Mississippi, "a coalition promoting the Eden Alternative and other sound principles of elder care transformation"

This new organization will become the sponsor of regular conferences and other related events. A website, which will serve as a resource for culture change in our state, is being developed at growms.org.

Michelle Daniel, Cynthia Kelly and Jay Massey have been instrumental in the formation of GROW Mississippi and we all hope you can join us at the conference on March 30. Please RSVP to by March 15. The cost of the conference is $40 per person and includes lunch. A complete agenda will be sent to those attending at a later date.

Should you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact my office by phone or email as noted below.

Sincerely,
